About Me

About Deco

I will try to write something brief and hopefully not boring for those who’ll take the time to read it, as talking about myself is not something I often do or like doing.

I graduated as a Textile designer in 1992. In 1995 I founded an Advertising agency and I worked there as a Manager and Head designer till 2007. I guess I am of those lucky people that had the chance to start working what they really like and enjoy. For more than 12 years of work in my Advertising agency I was involved in creating different projects such as logo and corporate design, projects for media and outdoor advertising, designs for web applications. Huge part of my work was also Marketing consultancy and planing, Advertising event management.

After 12+ years in the advertising industry in 2007 I decided I need a change. Travelling is a good way to escape from the daily routine and because Europe has so much to offer I thought visiting different European countries and experiencing different life styles is a good way to recharge your batteries. Enjoyed living in Spain, Gibraltar, Malta and few other countries for certain periods and I can definitely say that the impressions you gain from different places, cultures and nations are priceless, especially if you are an artist, all this changes the way you use your imagination and your perception of life gets more versatile.

In my work as an artist I like experimenting with different art materials – oils, acrylic, tempera, pastels … I am also interested in Batik, because it is quite different and unique drawing style where you use completely different technique and materials. Fashion design is my other passion and this is another direction I develop my skills in. It combines my knowledge in textile design and my love for clothes design. Most of my paintings and designs are abstractions of things from life that have captured my attention. When I paint or design I try to re-create things from life refracted by my personal point of view.

I believe artists should create when they have something to say to the public, if they don’t they better keep silent, because each piece of Art should tell a story.
I think that Art creates variety in our life making it more colourful and less dull and I will be really glad if my work contributes a bit to it.
